What actually matters to you?
If you remember, a couple weeks ago I was taking you all through the first two stages of my 7 Steps to 7 Figures checklist.
We've been building your killer strategy step by step:
In Part 1, we figured out who you actually are (beyond the boring job title stuff)
In Part 2, we dug into your deeper purpose and why it matters
If you missed either of those, definitely check them out first – each one builds on the previous and you'll get wayyy more out of today's email if you've done the earlier work.
Today we're tackling your VALUES.
I know, I know... when most people talk about "values" it sounds like corporate jargon that nobody actually believes in.
But that's not what we're talking about here.
Your real values are the stuff that makes people trust you, connect with you, and choose YOU over everyone else doing similar things.
So let's get into it!
What actually matters to you?
This sounds simple but it's wild how many people never actually think about it.
What principles do you absolutely refuse to compromise on?
What hills would you die on?
What makes you irrationally frustrated when you see people doing the opposite?
For me, it's authenticity. I literally can't stand fakeness.
Makes me cringe so hard I might actually turn inside out lol.
Another one for me is generosity - sharing what I know without making people jump through 47 hoops to get it.
Think about your own non-negotiables.
The stuff that just feels RIGHT to you and wrong when it's missing.
Make a quick list.
Don't overthink it.
Just write down what matters to you.
What do other people say about you?
We all have blind spots about ourselves.
Sometimes the things people value most about us are things we don't even notice because they're so natural to us.
Think about:
What feedback do you consistently get?
What do testimonials or reviews always mention?
What do people thank you for?
What do they say makes you different?
If you're brave, you could literally just message 3-5 people who know your work well and ask: "What would you say is different about working with me?"
Their answers might surprise you!
For example, when I joined the Sidemen, I didn't realise that one of my biggest strengths was being able to translate complex business concepts into simple, actionable plans.
It felt obvious to me!
But it was something they really valued.
Where's the overlap?
Look at both lists:
What matters to YOU
What OTHERS value about you
Where do they match up? Those intersection points are GOLD.
They show values that:
You naturally embody (so they're authentic)
Other people actually notice and appreciate (so they have real impact)
Set you apart without you having to force it
For example, if you value honesty and people consistently mention how refreshingly direct you are... boom!
That's a core value to lean into.
If you value creativity and people always comment on your unique approaches... that's your zone!
Why this matters for your business
When you build from these authentic values, life gets so much easier:
Your marketing writes itself (just talk about what you actually believe!)
You attract people who share your values (your perfect audience!)
You stand out without trying to be someone you're not
Decisions become clearer (just ask: "does this align with my values?")
I see so many people struggling to "find their voice" or "stand out" when the answer is already right there in their values.
Don't try to be unique.
Just be true to what matters to you, and uniqueness happens automatically.
Your turn!
Grab that 7 Steps to 7 Figures checklist again (or download it below if you haven't yet) and spend 15 minutes on questions 10-12.
