Your brain 🤝 sabotaging your success

Name a more iconic duo (you can't)...

You've been lied to about competition.

I see it every day:

Creators obsessing over what others are doing.

Comparing follower counts. Analysing competitor strategies. Worrying about market saturation.

But your real competition isn't other creators. It's not the person with more followers. It's not the brand with a bigger budget.

Your competition is you.

It's your self-doubt telling you "not yet."

It's your procrastination saying "tomorrow."

It's your ego whispering "make it perfect first."

It's your fear shouting "but what will they think?"

Let me show you how this actually plays out:

You get excited about a new project.

You plan everything perfectly.

You start strong.

Then...

Something shiny catches your eye.

A new opportunity.

A different direction.

"Maybe that would be better..."

So you pivot.

Start fresh.

Plan everything perfectly.

Again.

Or maybe you're stuck in the perfection loop:

Tweaking that video one more time.

Adjusting that landing page again.

Adding just one more feature.

"It's not quite ready..."

I had a conversation with a creator yesterday who's been "almost ready to launch" for 8 months.

Every time they get close, they find something else to improve.

Every time they plan to post, they see someone else's content and start doubting.

Every time they're about to ship, they convince themselves to wait.

This is not a strategy problem.

It's a self-sabotage problem.

Your brain is basically running a highly efficient procrastination startup, and business is booming.

The worst part?

While you're battling yourself, opportunities are passing by.

While you're tweaking that video for the tenth time, someone else is learning from their first nine attempts.

So what now?

It's time to declare war on your real competition.

Time to make sure the right version of you wins.

Here's how:

  1. Ship it at 80% perfect

  2. Set public deadlines

  3. Focus on progress over perfection

The creator who ships always beats the creator who waits.

The builder who acts always outperforms the builder who plans.

The person who starts always wins against the person who's "getting ready."

The market rewards action.

So which version of you is going to win today?

Remember, the creator mindset is all you need to grow 🌱
