Thinking clearly

End your week inspired

Hello and happy Friday,

This week, a few things around thinking clearly.

One image

Even the world’s most successful leaders can repeatedly make terrible decisions.

Don’t beat yourself up for getting things wrong sometimes.

Two thoughts

I

The world around us is terrifyingly, awe-inspiringly complex.

And so the best course of action is often the simplest:

Double down on what’s working, and leave the rest.

II

Today is the worst possible day to start something.

It’s just before Christmas. You’re tired and busy.

But that will also be the case in January, March, August, and October.

So why not now?

One quote

Writer and psychoanalyst Marion Milner

“There seemed to be endless obstacles preventing me from living with my eyes open, but as I gradually followed up clue after clue it seemed that the root cause of them all was fear.”

And finally, One Last Thing:

I very rarely know what the best thing to do is.

And yet I do things.

And that’s how I find the best thing to do.
