Power of rest

End your week inspired

Hello and happy Friday,

This week, a shorter edition on the power of rest, because it’s the end of the year and you’re tired:

One thought

Your brain feels through issues more intuitively during moments of calm.

Like doing the dishes, or a quiet walk.

So treat the next 2 weeks as a time in which to let these moments arise. A time to let your mind process information and defragment.

And prepare for another year of thinking, with a week or so of unthinking.

One quote

Poet May Sarton

“I always forget how important the empty days are, how important it may be sometimes not to expect to produce anything, even a few lines in a journal. A day when one has not pushed oneself to the limit seems a damaged, damaging day, a sinful day. Not so! The most valuable thing one can do for the psyche, occasionally, is to let it rest, wander, live in the changing light of a room.”

And finally, One Last Thing:

At this time of year, you don’t need a justification to rest.

It’s good that it’ll make you more creative and productive…

…but it’s also a good and necessary thing in its own right.
