Matthew McConaughey just sold his voice to AI
Matthew McConaughey and Michael Caine just sold out to AI…

And this might be controversial, but I don't hate it.
ElevenLabs, the AI voice company, has just signed deals with two Hollywood legends to license their voices.
And honestly? I think this could be brilliant for entertainment.
Voice cloning isn't inherently a problem.
It's actually an innovative evolution for how content reaches audiences.
McConaughey has stated he's done this so that he can start sending his newsletter in his voice, in Spanish.
Think about that for a second.
Done well, AI dubbing can preserve the original voices of creators, allowing their content to reach global audiences more authentically.
That accessibility matters.
From an entertainment perspective, this offers genuine value.
Where it gets complicated is once the genie is out of the bottle, there's no putting it back in.
Now this technology exists, how do you control it?
If your voice is manipulated to say something offensive or illegal, how do you prove it's AI?
As these technologies improve, audio deepfakes become increasingly difficult to detect or disprove.
You can't put it back in the bottle.
Once it's out there, it's out there.
Look, it's simultaneously exciting and terrifying.
Which honestly sums up AI as a whole.
I understand most people are going to outright hate this.
But I don't.
(I definitely don't love it either, mind you.)
I may be in the minority here.
The real issue isn't whether this is good or bad.
It's whether we can build the right safeguards before the technology outpaces our ability to control it.
And right now, I'm not sure we can.
But that doesn't mean we shouldn't try.
Or that we should reject innovation because it's scary.
Progress has always been a mixed bag.
This is no different.
What do you think? Am I completely off base here?
Let me know - genuinely curious where you land on this one.
Remember, the creator mindset is all you need to grow 🌱
