Life-changing opportunities

End your week inspired

Hello and happy Friday,

This week, a few things on life-changing opportunities:

One thought

The idea of a ‘big break’ makes for great stories.

But I very rarely meet people who speak of one moment when everything changed.

For 99.9% of us, the most meaningful opportunities are forged through years of quiet hard work.

One quote

Mel Robbins, best-selling author

No one is coming.

No one is coming to take responsibility for your dreams.

No one is coming to grow your business, heal your pain, improve your marriage, or make more money for you.

It is up to you.

It has always been up to you.

Brian Acton, on the left here, failed to get jobs at both Facebook and Twitter in 2009.

He founded WhatsApp later that year, and in 2014, sold it to Facebook for $19bn.

Do you think he still worries about those missed job opportunities?

One statistic

A Johns Hopkins found 84% of the top 5% of earners could not pinpoint one event where ‘everything changed’.

80% said their success had ‘accumulated over time’.

And finally, One Last Thing:

I really hope one day, someone offers to change your life.

I really hope you know they almost certainly won’t.

Either way, the satisfaction you seek can always be achieved.
