If I'd started documenting my journey 5 years earlier, where would I be today?
Mad when you think about it.
All those meetings, projects, and lessons learned... just gone. No record of them anywhere (until now).
It got me thinking of Gary V, actually.
Back in 2006, he just started filming himself talking about wine.
Nothing fancy - literally just him and a camera, tasting wine and chatting about it.
No one cared about wine reviews on YouTube back then.
The quality was terrible.
But he just... did it.
(compare the quality from 18 years ago to just a few months ago 👀)
But, that "silly" wine show ended up turning their family business from $3M to $60M.
Gary V has this amazing playlist on his YouTube channel called "Everyone Starts Somewhere."
It's all his earliest documented moments.
Properly awkward stuff.
But that's the whole point, isn't it?
Everyone starts somewhere.
It's actually annoying me right now thinking about it.
Because we all do this - we all wait.
We wait until:
We feel more "legit"
We have better gear
We know exactly what to say
Things are "perfect"
I see it all the time with people I work with.
They're doing fascinating stuff, solving interesting problems, learning things the hard way.
But ask them to document it?
"I'm not ready yet." "Nobody wants to hear from me." "I'll start when I've made it."
Look at people like Alex Hormozi and Codie Sanchez.
You know why they're crushing it?
They just... share what they're doing. The good bits, the mess-ups, all of it.

Just pick up your phone.
Film something.
Share what you learned today.
What worked, what didn't.
Because in 5 years, you'll either be thinking "I wish I'd started earlier" or "Thank god I just started."
That's it really.
Just... start.
