Emotionally abundant and publicly scarce

End your week inspired

Hello and happy Friday,

This week, learn to be emotionally abundant but publicly scarce:

One thought

My favourite people are generous in their actions but rare in their presence.

They move quietly.

But when you need them, they are interested and energising.

One quote

Robert Greene, author of The 48 Laws of Power

“By talking too much, you inadvertently let people smell weakness on you.

People who talk a lot give an impression of not knowing how to control themselves.

People who say less give off an impression of power, and that they know more than they do.”

One statistic

If you earn more than £25,000 ($30k) a year, you are richer than 99% of all humans ever.

99%!

So be thankful.

And give your energy to others generously.

And finally, one last thing:

Oxford University found people who focussed excessively on popularity were likely to suffer from:

  • Stress

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Marital breakdown

While those that were grateful for their life experienced:

  • More promotions

  • Greater salary growth

  • Higher emotional satisfaction

The followers will move on.

Your business and family will not.
