A stupidly simple format that actually works:
I was talking to someone yesterday about content creation, specifically how most of us (including me) majorly overcomplicate it when starting out.
Here's what I've learned after years of working with creators and trying to figure this out myself:
The most powerful thing you can do is find one simple format that works for you.
Let me break this down:
When I first started creating content, I tried everything.
Different styles, different platforms, different approaches.
I even launched a podcast about creators that honestly didn't work out - partly because we overcomplicated the whole thing.
But then I tried something different.
I stripped it right back and just focused on one super simple format: green screen videos explaining business concepts.
Nothing fancy.
Just me, my phone, and a visual hook in the background.
The process was dead simple:
15-20 mins writing what I wanted to say
30 mins filming (including all the mistakes)
Done in about an hour
That's it.
Got to 15K followers, had videos hitting 500K views, some even hit a million.
Nothing crazy by creator standards, but enough to prove something important:
Format beats production value.
Every. Single. Time.
Why this matters for your business: Simple, consistent content builds leverage like nothing else. You don't need to become a full-time creator. You just need to use creator principles to share your business journey.
What’s funny is - the hardest thing, at least in my experience, isn't finding the format.
It's sticking to it.
Your brain will constantly tell you to try new things, to complicate it, to "make it better."
Don't.
Instead, give yourself strict rules to not go beyond the boundaries of your format.
The best creators I work with?
They all started with something simple they could do over and over again.
That way, they could be consistent enough to learn what works.
That’s all it really is: Simple and repeatable ways to share your story and grow your business.
Think about how you can apply this:
What's the simplest way you could share your message?
What could you realistically do every week without fail?
What format would let you focus on the message instead of the production?
EVERYONE sucks when they start. Everyone.
The difference is whether you stick around long enough to get good.

P.S. We've just kicked off our first challenge - The Perfect Pitch. It's all about getting crystal clear on your vision and business direction.
Members are either creating a 60-second video or writing a detailed pitch, then getting direct feedback from me and the community before next week's challenge. We're starting with Strategy because without it, nothing else works.
